We are honored to announce that we have been selected as one of the 18 nonprofit recipients of the San Antonio Area Foundation’s Future Ready Impact Grants, part of a major community investment totaling over $2 million in youth-serving organizations across Bexar County.
Grants range from $27,500 to $300,000 over three years and support local nonprofits that help young people build pathways toward college, careers, and long-term wellbeing. This is the second cycle of Future Ready funding released in 2025 as part of the Future Ready Bexar County Plan, a countywide initiative committed to increasing postsecondary enrollment to 70% by 2030.
What This Grant Means for Sana Roots Co
As a grantee, we are deeply grateful for this investment in our work. This support strengthens our mission to reconnect youth with land, culture, foodways, and community-based leadership skills rooted in ancestral knowledge.
This grant directly contributes to our ability to:
• Expand culturally grounded youth programming
• Provide more hands-on learning experiences
• Deepen mentorship and community relationships
• Support long-term skill-building and pathways beyond high school
We know that when young people have access to culturally aligned support systems, they thrive — and this funding helps us continue showing up for them with intention and care.
A Community Movement Toward Postsecondary Success
The Future Ready Bexar County Plan is powered at the national level by Blue Meridian Partners and led locally by UP Partnership. Through this collective effort, youth-serving organizations across San Antonio are working together to ensure that every young person has a clear, supported pathway after graduation.
This second cycle builds on the first round of grants issued in May 2025. In total, nearly $10 million has been awarded to 34 nonprofits through the FRP initiative.
