Cooking in Community: A Discada Gathering for Sana Roots Co

Join Sana Roots Co for a joyful, intergenerational cooking experience honoring traditional foodways as a powerful means of connection and healing. Students and alumni from our programs will prepare a communal Discada meal, showcasing techniques rooted in ancestral knowledge and community care.

This gathering has grown into a Community Convivio — a shared meal where all are welcome. Families, kids, and elders are invited to come as they are and take part in this celebration of nourishment, culture, and community.

We believe that access to food is a human right and that sharing food is a way to heal together. Attendance is free, and optional donations help support the meal, supplies, and Sana Roots Co’s ongoing work to strengthen communities through culturally rooted programs in food, land, movement, and communication
